Great product. If you're replacing your old dog door with this one, make sure you take enough measurements before ordering so you don't end up with a product that doesn't fit properly and then give it a bad review for not doing it. your homework like the last guy.

Just replaced another PetSafe door I installed 4.5 years ago. It was the same size as the original, except the other was not an Extreme Weather model. It was about the same height as the hole, but about an inch narrower in width. Apart from the fact that the width doesn't allow my dog to bang on the door at 100 km/h, this is a quality door.

I measured the old fitted door and it turned out that this new door is the same average size. But when I took my old door off and put a new one in, the new door was smaller than the old door's opening. So I had to send it back and pay the postage! When upgrading to newer models, why don't they make sure they fit in the same holes as their older models?

I bought one of these for a door panel in our basement about 5 years ago. We built a wooden frame to take up space in the doorway and fitted this door into it, it fits perfectly as a standard dog door. I was expecting that at such a high price point it would be better at keeping out the heat compared to a standard door advertised as being weather resistant. She had quite a depth, and years later the depth only increased dramatically.

I had to buy this because the insulated exterior door for my house that I bought from Lowe's came with a single flap pet door (nonsense!). This is the second time I've bought this pet door (since Lowe stole the old door with the insulated pet door still in it).
