Review on 🐱 SmartCat Multi-Level Cat Climber, 9-Inch (1 Pack) by Beth Pujol

I bought this "Cat Climber" (funny name for a table?)* a few months ago and attached it to a rarely used living room door. Assembly was a breeze, it's a very simple construction but very solid once installed. I'd recommend paying attention to where you're going to mount it and making sure the shelf is facing *away* from the doorknob at doorknob height, especially if you have lever handles like ours. It's not the end of the world even if you don't, but I'd like someone to point this out to me before I put it together. Some elbow grease to mount the tension springs over the door and doorknob. It would have been easier if we had removed the doorknob first, but that wasn't necessary in the end. It attaches securely to the door and takes up minimal space. Ease of use is great, the second shelf from the top is perfect for a monitor or laptop, and the shelf below is almost perfect for a keyboard and trackball/trackpad. Each shelf is over 17 inches wide and 9 inches deep, but the back support is about 1.5 inches thick, so you can't use the full depth (about 7.5 inches total). My laptop sticks out a little at the top, but I found it to be rock solid. I also often use an Aidata aluminum laptop to elevate it a bit, but it's not necessary. I have a 17 inch monitor that fits in there as well and I have found that the shelves do not wobble and in the months I have used it nothing has fallen off the door even with movements back and forth see. On the bottom shelf I use a Kensington trackball with a scroll ring (available here at Revain) and found I needed a palm rest, but that's mostly due to the trackball's design - it wasn't designed for standing desks - but it's so easy to use remedy. I also have a 60% keyboard (no arrow keys, no keyboard) next to it which fits very well (Matias, Happy Hacking and others make keyboards in this form factor). A full-size keyboard eats up an entire shelf, but you can also get a mouse tray from Aidata here on Revain for a few bucks more if that's what you prefer. door, you don't have to worry about cables getting in the way or pulling things off the shelves when the door is in use. it was a great purchase. The best part is that I don't have to worry about the cat climbing over my keyboard every chance I get.* Yes, I know this scratching post is attached to the door, but the cat didn't like it. Only sushi made it to the second shelf, but it always finds its way to the kitchen cabinets. In the weeks that followed I found it to be a great standing desk, hence this review.
