Disappointed with speed

I bought this because I was thrilled with the advertised speed (up to 2800 read, 2300 write). I connected it to one of the two Thunderbolt 3 ports. I have a Dell Precision 7530, Core I7-8750H, 6 cores, 32GB memory.
