Review on πŸ’» Perixx PERIPAD-504 USB Touchpad: Large Size, Portable Trackpad for Desktop and Laptop Users by Michael Moulton

Not compatible with gestures

A longtime fan of desktop trackpads and I've tried several. Keep looking for a replacement for my old trusty Logitech T650 which I know will die one day. But that's not what this Perixx device is. Good: It has independent clickable buttons, which I like for reliable and accurate cursor placement in text (I'm a writer). It's smaller than Logitech and smaller than most other desktop touchpads, which isn't good for moving from one corner of the screen to the other. At least it's a straight wire, so no fiddling with charging, Bluetooth connectivity, etc. The trackpad is oddly textured, not silky smooth, but it might take some getting used to. Unfortunately, after a week of use, the gestures got mixed up: scrolling with two fingers became zooming. The only way around this was to make sure the fingers were exactly parallel and intentionally moved in perfect unison. Of course it won't help. So I sent it back and the search for a replacement for the T650 continues.

Pros
  • Crossing my fingers
Cons
  • I vaguely remember
