Review on Nut Bolt Thread Checker Metric by Austin Arvayo

Revainrating 2 out of 5

An essential tool with a terrible design.

The purpose of this tool is to measure threads on rotating fasteners. This means you have to rotate this tool if the thread you want to measure is stuck. To make this as difficult as possible, the manufacturers of this product have connected all the different sized parts with a cable. These parts are not attached to the cable and slide back and forth everywhere. It's the most awkward thing you could ever attach to a tiny threaded part you want to rotate while maintaining proper alignment with the object you want to measure so the threads will mesh. If they don't snap, you'll have to guess if it's because it's the wrong size, or just because the weight of the cable threw the strands out of alignment when you tried to twist them. What a nightmare! The only way to remove the pieces from the cable is to cut it off and the only reason I haven't done that is because at least on the cable they are ok. Once I find a good case for them I will lose this GD cable! Also, it seems to be the best tool of its kind.
