I used the 10 watt version for the underbody light in our 2004 GMC Yukon with a pin switch and a toggle switch. The toggle switch closes/opens the positive wire and the contact switch closes/opens the negative wire. A pin switch turns the light on when the hood is open, and a toggle switch allows me to turn the light off when the hood is open for an extended period of time. I used 18 gauge wire, 1/4" wire harness and an inline ATC fuse holder with a 5A fuse in the positive wire. These lamps are BRIGHT. They illuminate the entire engine compartment.
