Connect the TV's external antenna to the TV's internal cable

I originally used a fancy splitter in my junction box when I replaced the TV cable with an antenna. Then I found that the splitter filtered out most of the channels and just plugged it straight in. The number of channels has more than doubled, and the distance to the farthest channel has increased by about 10 miles. This solution will not work if you connect the antenna to more than one TV.
