I bought this product for four reasons: (1) to keep the 32 inch TV that I use as my monitor. (2) to free up space on my messy desk (3) to put my monitor at the best angle to view my 39.5" home TV that doubles as monitor two, and add a horizontal one if needed or to be able to have a vertical monitor. (4) to access the thermostat at my desk. As for the assembly, I think it will depend on your skills, I really had no problems. There were a few minutes where I had to use the tool to put the otherwise 5 stars in an awkward position. I liked that each part was labeled, a rarity I've seen in the past where screws were labeled in a box. It was a pleasant surprise. It works as expected and I'm happy with it.
