Review on πŸ“± Mini Cell Phone Thermometer: Infrared Temperature Measurement for Smartphones – USB Type-C Joint by Kristi Marshall

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Celsius mode is the most accurate reading

It does what it says. You can use it to measure the temperature of nearby things with an infrared sensor. No software or application is required. Just plug in and use! super easy. You can switch from Celsius to Fahrenheit with a button on the back. The device works with all my Apple devices from the 1st gen iPad mini to the latest iPad, as well as my iPhone XR. It's small enough to carry in a tiny front pocket of a pair of jeans or toss in a bag. I would give this device 5 stars but there are a few downsides. 1) You cannot use it with a protective case on your device. . You must remove the case to properly use the device. 2) Celsius readings are more accurate than Fahrenheit readings. In Celsius, the difference is only about 0.3. While the Fahrenheit readings gave me a fluctuating range that was usually 2 or 3 degrees off, making fever difficult to follow as such a large deviation could lead to inaccurate fever detection. If you're thinking of adding a few degrees when using it, it shouldn't bother you too much. used as a last resort when nothing else is available. 3) Objects or the body must be within a few centimeters of the device. This is fine for taking your own temperature or that of a family member, but I wouldn't attempt to use it to take someone's temperature outside of your bladder/capsule as you need to be very close to that person to take one get a good reading. All in all, I'd recommend keeping one handy and learning how to read Celsius if you don't already know how.
