Having only used one tripod since 1965, Linhof, I thought it was time to do something more modern. With all Asian tripod manufacturers copying each other's best qualities, the design of a modern tripod depends on standard setup elements and it's really just a question of who makes it better. They all use carbon fiber. They all use a quarter turn leg release. They all use ball heads and all modern tripods look pretty much the same. But prices range from $15 to $1500. This product is an excellent version of the Chinese company Fotopro, which is still little known in the USA and deals exclusively with professional tripods and ball heads. It is made with high precision from high quality materials and very well thought out in detail. Also, I got one on Black Friday for a very low price. However, it only came with a tiny paper instruction manual, and if I hadn't found a youtube video showing how to use it, I would never have found the fold-out legs. , and other intelligent functions.
