It's hard to fret over cables that cost around twenty dollars a piece, especially when the big name brand options are *much* more expensive. However, the details of these cables are somewhat lacking - the frame around the connectors is rather flimsy and poorly placed. If the connector isn't inserted this way, there's a good chance you'll snag the cage and bend it, making it almost impossible. Additionally, there is a rubber O-ring at the base of the connector. This seems like a nice touch, but I've found that some vessels are slightly different sizes, making it possible for this o-ring to be pinched or displaced. I believe the connector shell is slightly out of spec (fractions of a millimeter) and that is the reason for this interference. But when I look at other mini-SAS cables I have, they are all constructed differently, so maybe it's a general design issue. I do not know. What I do know for sure is that everything I've connected these cables to is reliable and working. So unless you're confused by the wrong cage and o-ring, these cables are a great choice at an attractive price. price target. *Probably* I wouldn't buy them again. I hate when important connections aren't perfect. ;)
