I like her style. So far none have broken, although I've sat on one before and tend to "chew" things on them when they're not in my hair. They stay down. Can't hold a ton of hair, of course, but more than I expected. Folding it over to one side or the other offers various gripping and stacking advantages. It takes a slightly different grip to open them, "parallel" rather than perpendicular if that makes sense. My elderly mom didn't like them because the pinched area has a lip that's hard on fingers, but the grip adjustment gives it a natural feel when picking up hair. . It "sticks" to the hair very well and doesn't tangle, although I still carefully remove the barrettes, so that's not necessarily the benefit of these particular barrettes. If you wear it upside down, it will be a little more convenient to drive. Good deal and beautiful. Nice departure from the more traditional clip style.
