The product is just well designed. We bought the same humidifier for our first child about 2 years ago. Then for our second child we decided to try a different humidifier but sent it back because it was difficult to clean and didn't produce as much vapor as we were used to. I clean it every 2 weeks and I don't worry because I know it's clean. The previous design had its flaws, such as the main body not feeling solid. but the 2018 version is better in every way. Side steam is new from version 2018. I like companies that keep improving their areas.
