I've used over 10 different beard care products so I have a pretty good base for other products and their ingredients. That being said I have a pretty thin beard so YMMV. I've found that every beard responds well to different conditioners, so be sure to try a few to see what works best for you. FWIW, I am currently choosing the Polished Gentleman Shampoo/Conditioner so this review is just about comparing this product. So the consistency is great. It's nice when you put it on your beard and it seems to soften my beard quite a bit. I've been using it for a few weeks so I think I have a good feeling about how it will perform in the long term. I love everything about this conditioner except the smell. I prefer masculine scents, like woody or citrus scents. This one smells like cake icing and is strong. Since it sits under my nose all day, even my beard oils don't completely cover it. This is a deal breaker for me and I will most likely go back to my standard (Polished Gentleman) or try a different product.
