Initially, the magnet sticks to the phone quite well, but if you hold the phone in the ring with your finger and grab something on the phone with your thumb, after a slight tug the magnet will start to loosen the phone. It seemed too unstable to me. When you open the ring, you must also hold the magnet with your other hand to keep it from detaching from the phone. It just doesn't seem strong enough, especially compared to how I used my previous pop socket with glue.
