I bought this lightweight mat to use when diamond painting. Not always, but sometimes letters and symbols are difficult to distinguish because they are tiny and similar in color. Using a light bar eliminates all of these difficulties. Although I mostly use it without a stand. The stand is my only complaint. With diamond painting, it takes a little effort, but not a lot, to make the diamonds stick to the canvas. I find the stand a bit short for the support it needs. This is most likely suitable for scanning and the like where pressure is not required. However, this is not enough to distract from the overlay or purchase. While I never use a stand, I've made my living with a stand that I have to say is cheaper than most of the same size. The color is true LED white. It doesn't have the rich blue color that some people complain about in reviews of other bars. The surface appears to be covered with small holes, but these are not visible when illuminated. This is for even lighting only. The cord is excellent. It's quite long, much longer than I expected, giving you more versatility of use. Adjusting the brightness is easy. For best results, dim the lights in the room you are in. As soon as you plug it in, a blue light will illuminate next to the dimmer button. Pressing this button once will bring the pad to its lowest setting. I like it because it's not so conspicuous that you get blinded. The second press brings it to the middle level. Brightest closest. And one more. Depending on the time of day, the brightness I needed changed. Rotating through the brightness levels to find the best one is very quick and easy. What strikes me the most is the weight. or its absence. It's so thin and light that it won't be difficult to carry around on a regular basis. However, I would recommend getting a case for it if you plan to do this as it seems quite fragile. The seller emailed me through Revain immediately after receiving this email, thanking me for purchasing their product. They all provided their contact details upfront should anything go wrong with the lighting area. I have made many online purchases and this is the first time. I have never had a company thank me and offer their services before I even asked or needed them. I found it very nice. I will definitely be using Magicfly for future purchases should I need them and would highly recommend them to anyone.
