Review on Memorex 8 5GB Double Layer Spindle Computer Accessories & Peripherals by Mark Adlesh

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Worth it for the price and convenience

In my experience you always pay more when you buy blank dual layer DVDs at brick and mortar stores and you almost never have a choice of what you really want to buy pain . Luckily the price is reasonable and the quality is about what it should be in my experience. First, why put them on top of one layer? Most people don't really need dual layer DVDs unless you have large files or longer videos that you want to put on one DVD instead of splitting it up. In my case I had a home video that was quite long and ended up either using a lower quality to fit on a single layer or going bust to get a dual layer disc to fit. The burning process is the same as a regular DVD except that it takes a little longer and the end result looks like a regular single layer DVD. I can't comment on the long-term quality of these drives, but based on previous experience with Memorex blanks, I've had no issues with their lifespan for several years. I used to make the mistake of choosing generic branded blanks and had problems with that for a year or two after recording. Overall I'm happy with them and I think you will be too. Pros: Well-known brand with good reputation. Works well for recording large files/videos. Cons: The price is a bit high compared to single layer media.
