Although the scarf is 100% acrylic, it has the soft feel of flannel. It looks like a print on a fabric that looks like fleece, like felt - so there's no love for a knitted scarf. However, like most winter accessories, it is a hand wash item. Unless you're using all high fashion fabrics, it really should be machine washable. I wanted some color and print for my winter clothes and that's exactly what I expected and wanted. Pink and teal in the paid version add brightness to the usual solid and dark colors of winter.
