My 14 year old son has been hassling me for a new shirt for months (he broke his old one) so I started researching. He was very specific about the type of shirt his coaches recommended. I was beyond shock to find that the recommended t-shirt was around $80. I will pay whatever it takes to help my son get further in baseball, but the price seemed too high, so I kept looking. After weeks of research, reading reviews and learning the differences between expensive and budget tees, I came across this BaseGoal Batting Tee. The first thing I liked was the price: half the price of the recommended t-shirt. Okay, the price is good, but is it worth the savings? My son has been using this t-shirt 5-7 days a week (sometimes multiple times a day) for over a month. He likes it very much. Let me address a few things I was looking for: 1. Tee: This is a flexible hand rolled rubber (which my son insisted on) versus a hard rubber. As my son's racquet speed increased, I noticed that he hit an old rubber t-shirt and eventually destroyed it. Twisted rubber is strong enough to hold the ball in place, yet flexible when the racquet hits it. There's a lot less bouncing between his racquet and his t-shirt, so I can see it lasting a lot longer than a one-piece rubber t-shirt. The rolled-up rubber top can also be swapped out if needed, so I don't have to buy a brand new shirt in that case. 2. Tripod: I was skeptical about a tripod over a rubber plate. Some of the reviews I read mentioned that the t-shirt falls off sometimes. However, in 5 weeks of use, this t-shirt has never fallen off my son. I will say that I made some changes when we first installed the tee and I advised him to place his feet so that one foot points away from him when he hits. I can see how when you put a foot in front of you the momentum of the kick can cause the tee to bounce off you. Still, he had no trouble dropping the tee.3. Mobility: Our old tee was a standard rubber plate with an adjustable rubber tee. There was no portability, and carrying this thing around was beyond a chore. I wanted to make sure it would be easy for him to carry a new shirt when needed. This BaseGoal folds easily and comes with a neat little pouch. In fact, my son put the t-shirt back in his pocket after each use. Yes, my teenage son! This is quite a notable and very beautiful feature of the t-shirt. This is a long review, but if you want to support your baseball player and save some money in the process, you can buy and use this BaseGoal jersey with confidence. Savings, like me, on some other baseball expenses. I don't recommend a "cheap" solid rubber t-shirt (like most coaches do these days) because you can pay about $10 more and get that BaseGoal wrapped in rubber; but I also don't recommend the "expensive" recommended shock t-shirt because you can save about $40 and get this shock t-shirt: half the price but all the quality.
