Same size as OH1 in Exercise & Fitness

I used to have a Polar OH1 but it was damaged when hit by a car. I liked the swim clip because I could use it with my regular cycling goggles. I had trouble using it as a wristband as my skin seems to be quite translucent and the sun's rays hitting that area would interfere with the readings and cut off the transmission to my Garmin. When I wear it on my temple it happens much less often because the sun has to be at a pretty perfect angle to hit my temple with the same intensity. In any case, this new model comes with a different swim clip that is probably great for swimming but totally unsuitable for attaching to my goggles. Luckily OH1 and this model are the same size and I can use my old clip with the new model to keep it on my temple. As far as pairing goes, it couldn't be easier. I installed the Flow app and the pairing worked great. I had the Beat app from the previous model, so my account worked with the Flow app. I opened up Strava and let it search for the device and it found it easily with no lag. I turned on my Garmin and had it look around and it found no problems with the unit. Now all my apps and devices are up and running in just five minutes of tapping and pressing buttons. Polar should really consider a bespectacled cyclist as a potential use case for the temple position. I don't want to wear belts. I don't need any part of my body to be tense, and with this temple position, I don't have to either.

Pros

Cons
  • Big and bulky
