Review on Tenba Backpack Insert Tools 636 287: Organize and Protect your Gear with Precision by Sheila Myers

Not strong enough - definitely not for DSLRs

I am very disappointed with this insert - the insert is not thick enough and caused the film door on the back of my Nikon DSLR to break. Now I have to fix it or try to find a new door and pray the latch inside doesn't break. ) just isn't enough. Definitely don't store your gear in a bag on a shelf. The interior walls are very thin, making it difficult to keep gear in place inside. Again, it might be ok if I used a mirrorless camera or just a target camera, but it had to hold the DSLR. I've used it once (winter shoot on a commercial fishing boat for a book, I wanted to put the liner in my PVC dry bag) and it was fine, but it wasn't easy to reach/get things and I wish I did would have done. Instead, I took my Lowepro bag with me. I was also constantly worried about things shifting too much, so I nicked some dividers from my Lowepro bag in the car and used them to make it hold together better. I also tucked a headscarf and some microfiber towels around the edges to cushion them. This way defeats the purpose of user-friendliness. Overall I'm disappointed and unfortunately missed the return window. Finally, if you want strong/durable, look elsewhere. For light everyday use you will probably want a smaller and lighter camera.
