It was a blast to build. There are many small parts so 1) be careful not to lose them and 2) be aware of the risks before assembling with young children (there are many choking hazards in this set). The best way to ensure efficient movement is to carefully sand down the rough edges on the gears and make sure the spiral leaf spring that drives the gears is running smoothly before installing it (you can never get back to it without most parts disassemble train). This was done on me and the threads on the winding arm were stripped making rewinding impossible (remember what I said about how difficult it is to get to this part once assembled). I was able to get around this problem by simply turning the wheels against the wind (which takes forever due to the different gear ratios transmitted at the wheels and at the crank). Luckily I was able to reattach the crank with Blue Loctite without any problems. but I had to use a little ingenuity to correct my stupid mistake.
