Review on ViewSonic VG2860MHL 4K Ergonomic Monitor with DisplayPort, HDMI, HD, LCD - ‎3840X2160P Resolution, VG2860MHL-4K by Jakiel Basque

I've been using a 24" monitor with a 16:9 aspect ratio for a long time and I love the size. However, this trend towards short and wide monitors is driving me crazy. This ViewSonic breaks this trend and offers us a 16 aspect ratio :10 which I think is great. Extra vertical height is welcome. I really like the extra real estate it offers compared to my 24" 16:9 monitor. I appreciate that ViewSonic has built in a lot of positioning options - adjustable ones Tilt, rotation, height and orientation The bezel is a bit larger than I'd like, but it's clean with no distracting graphics or stickers Just a clean line The built-in speakers are decent - nothing special, but decent The monitor offers plenty Connections and comes with cables for setup The only thing I would have wished for was HDMI enabled The ViewSonic is nice and bright with a nice sharp/clear image. Colors are bright, darkness is even, and brightness is saturated. I will say that the monitor gets warm when the screen is much brighter, but nothing to worry about. The controls for adjusting the screen (brightness, contrast, colors, etc.) can be hard to see in low light, but once you find them, they offer total control and are easy to use. This is an excellent monitor. In my case it was plug and play with Windows 8.1. It was easy to set up - use a thumbscrew to attach the base to the tower and you're done. And it comes with all the cables you'll likely need. Just make sure your computer supports one of the video connector types that come with this monitor. Some devices only support HDMI. So if you're in this boat, you'll need an adapter. The price is a bit steep if you're considering this for an entry-level monitor, as you can find other 24-inch monitors cheaper, but this option includes features that other monitors don't have - adjustable position, mounting options, various video outputs, display more programmable modes etc. I appreciate the extras this monitor packs so no complaints here.
