I bought this keyboard cover mainly to muffle the noise of the keys on my laptop. It definitely reduces the sound of the keys. For frequently used keys, the silicone sticks to the keys underneath, making it look like the keyboard has greasy fingerprints after use. You can pick up the silicone and put it back in and it will be the same color again, but when you print it happens again, if this type of image bothers you, you might want to consider a different type. It's light and fits the keyboard very well, although closing the laptop isn't a problem.
