Bought this camera as a gift for my wife a few years ago and apparently I have yet to write a review. Wow. Okay this may benefit the end user as my wife and I have been using it for several years so can give a more accurate review. The summary of my experience is this is probably the best camera I have ever used. not a full SLR or DSLR. The versatility and image quality are amazing. My wife is an avid amateur photographer and really took full advantage of this device. Some of the positives we noticed: * Excellent image quality even at high speeds. My wife has a habit of hanging this camera out of her car window and taking spontaneous pictures (for some reason she hasn't dropped it once). These shots usually come out as if we weren't moving at all. The only exception is in low light conditions.* Excellent scaling capabilities. The 20x zoom works great, and the image stabilization ensures it stays sharp and sharp even at the furthest zoom level.* Great features. There are lots of things to play with, including choosing scenes and lighting modes. "Low Light" is a pretty handy feature for shooting at dusk and the like (although the image quality suffers a bit). You can take panoramic shots that turn out great. I'm leaving a lot here, but for the sake of time, just take my word for it; If you can still find this camera, you won't be disappointed with the feature set. And very few cons: * No DSLR. It kind of speaks for itself, but no interchangeable lenses or anything.* Uses a proprietary memory card. This camera uses an Olympus XD memory card, which has some well-documented limitations.* Poor low-light performance. Photos at night and in various low-light conditions usually don't turn out so well. All in all a great camera. When I bought it almost 4 years ago it was $350 and for my money it was a steal at that price. Now I see that you can find it used on Amazon for $75 and to that I say you must buy it now. At this price, it's worth buying at least as a backup for your DSLR.
