I bought this Turkish towel to use on the beach (to lay on the sand and dry off) rather than lugging around the bulkier traditional beach towel. . It folds up very small and I can hide it right in my pocket! Thin and comfortably soft, it has survived multiple washes and dryer cycles - not a major shrinkage and not a single tassel has bloomed. warm as a traditional towel, but it absorbs very well and does the job just as well. It also dries faster because it's so thin. However, being thin it's not very good for lying on the sand at the beach - I felt like I could feel every pebble and shell through it and I was afraid it might break. I find them perfect for drying off after a swim in the pool or shower in the summer, but definitely not for lying on the grass or sand.
