Purchased at Christmas 2019. didn't need her. In May 2020, I took the first cable out of the box to map my file server's hard drive to a USB 3 docking station, since my file server didn't have a USB 3.0 controller. Then I tried to take the disc. Picture. The first attempt failed immediately with a false "not enough space" error. I tried again and after a few hours it failed with an error I don't remember. I think it was due to the inability to transfer or read data from the original drive (the file server's hard drive). I tried again only to fail in a very impressive way. I went back to the computer after leaving it on all night and saw debris all over the screen, something was flickering, the screen itself was distorted and the number kept increasing very quickly. So I turned it off, took the second cable out of the box and repeated the whole process. Any attempt to image using one of these cables has failed one way or another, as data on the cable itself has been corrupted as data travels through it. I wrote off both cables as garbage, gave up trying to picture and everything went back to normal. Now for the worst part: these cables distort the data passing through them. When I checked the SMART statistics on my file server's hard drive before attempting to create an image, no (0) ECC errors were reported. After trying to create an image it reported over 240. All of these errors were caused by the drive receiving corrupted data, trying to repair it, and failing. When I put the disk back into the file server and booted up again, fsck (filesystem checker, I use Linux on my systems) ran and found filesystem corruption which was then fixed. It also had damaged magazines that were removed. DO NOT buy these cables if all you want is frustration and corrupted data.
