A must have for cookie decorators BUT perfect for everyone!

Boy. Is it really hard to find something like that!?! I bake and decorate tons of cookies whenever I feel like it. I was looking for a small turntable. I used OLD Rubber Maid Lazy Susan with a 1/3 inch ledge for kitchen shelving. Size and prominence were an issue. I need a small rotating surface with no edge to place cookies on. The rotation allows me to flip them over without constantly lifting them to change their position. Every time they are taken, there is a great risk of damaging the edges. The lipless edges allow me to slide the spatula under the finished cookies to pop them in the dryer. This is my situation. As for this little guy, he's almost perfect for MY needs. If you show something on it, it's great. The rotation is just right, so I'm in control. For cooking I need to add a small one. I take a clear/frosted soft cutting mat and cut out a circle to fit on it. The reason for this is that there is a cutout in the middle that is designed to connect the top and bottom. (pic) I might use some icing to fix it temporarily so the mat can be removed for cleaning! Cookies have crumbs etc. I don't want to worry about things getting into places I often can't clean easily. Problem solved! I could see this being used by detail artists such as small shapes, gluing or hot gluing small items. Or any detail work to be shot. It's easy to save. The price is perfect. It seems like this little guy must have a lot of goals in someone's well-equipped "tool of the trade"! Maybe I should get another one. Photos, 1) turntable, 2) closeup in center, 3) uncut mat under turntable with finished cookies on it.

Pros
  • β˜… Supports up to 15 kg, steel ball bearings for rotation durable
Cons
  • Doubtful
