So far so good: Surveillance NVR Kits

I know the name is a bit vague but to be honest this is my first home security/camera system. I work for a residential real estate company and we have wired camera systems that I'm familiar with and a phone app. So while working with them I had a good idea of what I wanted from the system at home. I spent at least a week researching and reading review after review to the point where I almost forgot the first one I researched. I kept coming back to this particular system because not only did it have all the options I was looking for, but it was pretty much plug and play. No need to install a hard drive or sync cameras, and the price was right! I installed the system and have been recording for a week now. In general, I am very satisfied with the system. That's all he claims. It took me a Saturday to install the system and its four cameras, with a bit of fiddling on Sunday. I followed the advice from the review I read and hooked up each camera individually to see which was 1, 2, 3 and 4. I connected the system to the TV in the living room using the HDMI cable that came with it, and each camera came online showing it on the screen as it was. I have marked the camera accordingly. Then I separated them all and started the instillation. I was very lucky as three of the four places I installed the cameras had electrical outlet panels that I drilled holes in from the outside, so there were very few stains. I like how the foam backed cameras are firmly attached to the surface, but I used heavier screws to attach them. The only negative thing I can say about the cameras themselves is the position of the antenna. If you look at the back of the camera, it's on the left side. It would be better to serve top center because if you have to turn the camera to that side it only goes to b4, it hits the antenna and doesn't go any further. Luckily I only had one where I had this problem but I was still able to get the right angle but the image was a little crooked. I have an excellent signal to each camera, the farthest is about 50 feet and there are two walls between it and the receiver. I downloaded the recommended app (ip-pro3) b4. I have made all the settings so that when I install each camera I can call them on my phone to get the correct position. I read some bad reviews about the app but found it very user friendly and easy to set up. The only other issue I have is motion detection, which is why I give 4 stars in the overall rating. In truth, the problems I'm having may also be related to my settings. As mentioned in previous reviews, you'll have to experiment to find the right sensitivity and area you want to detect. What was weird from the start was that only two of my four cameras were capturing motion and I know all four were on. The first night my phone was full of warnings about a certain camera picking up on passing cars. I reduced the field of motion along with the sensitivity and it worked. The next morning I just turned them all off for the day until I had time to play with them later. Well now I can only get one to work and none of them worked. b4.lol So I'm pretty sure I do. I'll report when I find out. This is the only other downside to this system, which is the manual that comes with it. It's very simple and leaves you to figure it out for yourself a little. So, to make a long review longer. In general, I like the system very much. Playback is very simple and you can set all sorts of options for recording. I plan to order at least two more cameras that will give me full coverage of my entire house and most of my property. I hope to give another positive review in a year or two.
