My Accent & Off-Road Lighting Diary

So I put it on the front of my 2018 Forester and hooked it up to the high beam. I installed an on/off switch instead of the one that came with it. (Finding the wiring was a problem, but that's another product). That way I could turn the lights on with the high beams or just keep them on all the time. I mostly use it when driving winding forest trails in the middle of the night. I only used high beams on my previous car. But with these lights it makes such a big difference. Night turns into day in front of my SUV. And that's great, because these roads have a lot of curves and are much easier to read. It also illuminates the entire road so I can clearly see if any animals are crossing, even on a bend. The wiring from the light to the battery was fine. (The battery is closer to the front of the car. I installed it in the area under the front license plate.) In fact, it's more than adequate for that area. But the wiring from the battery to the interior of the SUV was tight. A foot or two would be ideal. And I have a smaller SUV, so a larger one might be more of an issue, but battery location might play a role. The wiring was well shielded and appeared to be of good quality. It was nice not having to worry about relays and fuses as I'm a total noob when it comes to auto stuff.
