I wanted to use them to keep the cover from shifting on my husband's chair so I don't have to adjust it all day, but the pins aren't strong enough to withstand constant tension and the coils straighten straight pins and the head goes down. So I think you need to use a bunch of them and they will get the job done. 3 or 4 is not enough for what I wanted to do with them. And 50 isn't as much for a package as I first thought. I wondered what I would do with all of them. I am happy to report that the cover fabric will not be damaged when slipping out. They stayed inside for a few days before they broke and you can roll them back up and put them back in. I used more the second time.
