Well, I have a variety of different types of foot files to keep my soles and heels smooth and soft. I'm used to more rasps or sandpaper or even pumice stone. However, this is the first glass I use. It looks and feels like a computer mouse and is very comfortable to hold. As far as smoothing ability goes, it works more or less like one of those very fine rasps you use after removing most heavy calluses with something a little more solid. I really like that the glass is very easy to clean and therefore more hygienic. However, it is GLASS. A fall on the ground and it will shatter what happened to me.
