I bought this to fit in a screen door to allow my dog in and out in good weather and I am very happy with it. Previously I installed another style of door that was larger but much cheaper and didn't work (they were plastic posts that you pushed through the screen into holes in the frame on the other side of the screen - stay away from that style ! ). I was worried about how to use this door as the dimensions were much smaller but I was able to fix it with a screen repair kit and now it works very well although there is a lot of screen repair glue. the entire outside edge of the door. I have a small dog (about ten pounds) and the small door works great. The size (8.25 x 10.5) is great for him to get in and out of easily with plenty of extra room. I like the magnetic base because it keeps the door closed after two pans or so, but it's not so strong that my dog has trouble pushing it. There were a couple of times when a really strong wind opened it up a bit, but it wasn't a big problem. As for the latch feature, I don't use it since I only close the sliding glass door, but I test it and it keeps the door closed, although I had a hard time grabbing the little sliders to latch it. It took quite a while to install because I was struggling to hold the swinging part of the door. on the inner bezel while trying to get a rear bezel on the other side of the screen. I think it would be a lot easier if I could take the screen door off and put it down or if I had another pair of hands. It worked in the end, but doing it yourself at the door was always more difficult. The screws are very small but hold the screen securely in place. Despite the difficulties I had installing it, this is a really solid door that works very well. It was a great investment and I am very happy with it.
