They work but not in the way you would expect from a downlight. Need a smart wall switch that isn't one. The problem is you can't dim with a switch. You have to dim in the app. Not good. But okay, say you're ready to do something through the app. If someone turns off the wall switch, it won't work until the switch is turned back on. When someone leaves the room and wants to turn off the light, they press the switch instead of pulling out the app. They sell a remote switch to control them, but it's a battery operated remote, not a switch. So the same problem when switching. If you have a dimmer to dim the light, that won't work either. The application must be used for dimming. All they have to do is make a switch that replaces a wall switch that will dim, allow you to use the app or Alexa etc when you're not near the switch and you're done. Halo has a similar solution and for this reason they have developed special switches that replace your existing switches. In my opinion they should have looked into this very common scenario before offering a fixture to replace your downlights.
