Review on πŸ’½ Enhanced SanDisk Ultra 32GB UHS-I/Class 10 Micro SDHC Memory Card - SDSDQUAN-032G-G4A by Bob Jensen

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Linear recording performance is well below specification; Overall unbearable in terms of write performance.

This card complies with the performance standard for SD/MicroSD cards. Read speeds look good, but to call write performance "pathetic" is a gross exaggeration of the quality. Almost 23 MB/s are achieved for linear read processes, almost 20 MB/s for large random reads, and only 23 MB/s for small random reads. that's almost 2.5 MB/s. On the record side, it's not even a bad joke. The C10 card should be at least 10MB/s for linear recording, but this card is just over 4MB/s. For long random writes < 1 MB/s and for short random writes < 1.5 MB/s. In general, linear write performance is well below specification, and non-linear write performance is pathetic, in line with most cards whose manufacturers refuse to provide write performance specifications other than "C" code or "U" code, but who insist on it Read. Perfomance. I've never lost data on a SanDisk card and this card is no exception, but due to its terrible write performance, it's only used as a scratch disk (to share data with other systems).

Pros
  • Read speed up to 48 MB/s
Cons
  • No

Far under-spec linear write performance; intolerable overall on write performance.
