I have read most of the product reviews for this item and they follow the 1-2 star ratings. Of course, I read the negative reviews about this product, but I took note of all the positive comments, so I finally made the purchase. Watch. Mine didn't have that marbling on the handle, but I was more interested in functionality. After unboxing I noticed that the blade is not centered and does not close straight, which is an issue other buyers have had; As a result, the blade hits the side of the handle when closing and the manufacturer was apparently careless as there are two large notches near the front of the blade which can be seen in the picture. The blade itself is NOT finished shaved; I tried shaving with it before making my final decision and after he lathered himself he didn't cut his facial hair; Of course I would make it sharp, but I don't want to have any warranty problems. As I said earlier this was an issue for this product, one customer even received a new product which appears to be of better quality. A little quality control and it won't be necessary. I think this will be a great entry level razor and I hope River Lake improves on the quality of this product as I would love to shave with it.
