The scales are so narrow that they can dull the blade. Otherwise I stripped it off a bit and got a close shave out of the box. Good weight and quality materials for the price. Can't win!

I'm tired of buying replacement razor heads or using an electric razor that doesn't give me a clean shave. So I decided on this straight edge razor and have not regretted it for a second. Having never used a straightedge I found it extremely intuitive and I found I got a lot less irritation from a razor or ingrown hairs and a very nice close shave. And that's with putting on old jeans, I can't wait to see how well I shave once I have the right belt that I bought.

I am reviewing my review because I received a new blade after returning my purchase and getting my money back. The first blade had all sorts of problems and flaws that in most cases don't apply to the new blade. The new blade has a couple of washer-related issues that I understand its engineers are addressing as I write. I have posted pictures showing the problems. Overall very good razor turned out to be heavier than I thought which is not a problem it felt a lot the only downside it doesn't even come close to a close shave of the box overall not very good, so overall very good. The reason I gave it a star in the beginner category is because they are beginners and probably don't have the facilities to sharpen and sharpen a straight razor and this one definitely needs sharpening both another and dropping left before you can use it

Be careful, it needs to be sharpened first. The razor also fell apart after about 3 or 4 uses so watch out for the screw holding the blade to the handle because mine just fell apart in my hands.
