Review on TEFLON Coated Travel Umbrella with Windproof Technology by Dawn Miller

This umbrella works well until it breaks. I've been using it for a few years, but I haven't used it often (probably 8-10 times). Sometimes I had problems with it getting stuck in the half open position, not opening all the way but not closing all the way either. I could normally reset it by fiddling with it, but today (in the middle of a downpour of course) it wouldn't reset, allowing it to open. The problem seems to be the elastic that closes it without stretching properly when it opens, so there is no system that forces it to close and also that the elastic prevents it from opening. It's a cool idea to have an umbrella that opens and closes at the same time, but it seems to complicate the design and cause things to go wrong. In fact, it's not difficult to close an ordinary umbrella, so I would avoid it and just buy an umbrella that can be closed manually.
