For reference only my baby was born at 6.8lbs, is two months old, weighs 15.2lbs now and is still carrying it. He's in the latest picture and probably not until the end of this week before he outgrows them. They work very well. I always put the liner inside the bag and then add additional liners on the outside of the bag. When using the alva baby insoles for newborns, he started with a microfiber insert in the pocket and then a 4-ply bamboo/alva baby microfiber on the outside of the pocket. (Do not apply microfiber to baby's skin as it can dry out and cause diaper rash.) After that I gradually add all alva bamboo baby pads, they are thinner than bamboo/microfiber and microfiber. Now he wears the previous set with added bamboo lining. So to disassemble: β’ a newborn diaper with a microfiber insert in the pocket β’ a bamboo/microfiber insert in the outside pocket β’ 1 to 2 full bamboo inserts on top. At his weight (15lbs) newborn diapers are usually changed every hour and a half to two hours, it really just depends on his eating habits and how much I can feel him farting. So far they've worked really well, but at about 13 pounds I started wearing them one size up at night and when we go out so I don't have to change them in the trunk of my car or in the public restroom. Also allows me not to have so many baby clothes. One size lined with 2 microfiber liners in the pocket and 5 layers of charcoal/bamboo on top will last five or six hours and 8 hours if needed (if he decides to sleep through the night from time to time). At its current size I found using two different sizes was a good mix: NB during the day and OS at night/walking. The only thing I would like to say is that I feel the elastic stretches too easily. I noticed that some of his diapers still had gaps around his legs and weighed around 9 pounds. It now weighs 15 pounds and some of them still have gaps. He is 15 pounds. They should be fairly snug and I noticed they were a bit loose which caused a few leaks here and there. Maybe I just got a bad batch? Idk Overall they are really great and I would highly recommend them, but that's also coming from someone who hasn't tried any other brand and is fortunate enough that I probably won't either. BUY IT!
