The perfect spare part! I noticed that the cables on my 2004 2500 HD were getting quite rusty and were crumbling at the ends. Good durable cables for spares

I installed two of these cables on a '99 Silverado. One of the original cables broke and the other was in poor condition. The Dorman cable looked pretty much the same as the original, except it had a bit more shrink tubing on its connector. The two cables were exactly the same length as the original cables. They get the job done for a reasonable price.

What can I say, they install in 5 minutes and help the tailgate work like new. They also detach from the truck body very easily, which is helpful if you need to remove the tailgate. The only downside I have with the cables is that they aren't made out of any rust resistant material as far as I can tell.
