After years of using a Nikon 35mm film camera I needed something digital and simple for my wife and I to use for our animals that need a home. I made a mistake right after selecting English. We both know a few words of Spanish so I decided to give it a try. DO NOT DO THIS unless you know the other language well. The installation went well, all menu items and on-screen instructions are in Spanish. We barely knew enough Spanish not to erase what we were trying to keep. Later we removed all that and tried again in English and everything went fine. Images come out sharp and clear if we hold the camera steady while trying to photograph animals that are more interested in running and playing than posing. 3 megapixels is more than we need for web photos, which rarely exceed 3 x 4 inches. In case we want to print something, extra pixels will come in handy. We decided to try disposable batteries and not buy a charger. This proved impractical; We have just received the charger. Overall, the camera works well for us. Our main complaint is that the digital screen is practically useless in the sun. All in all, it was a good choice for our first digital camera (1 or 2 megapixels would be enough for our use). For other photographs, however, I still use Nikon.
