Works reasonably well. . . I have no reason to compare. I preheat it on the included griddle and flip the sammy to brown it even more. I press hard enough that the grill lines snap back up easily enough after flipping. This stands as one of the rare Unitaxers I've allowed in the kitchen that I have no regrets about. I think what I like best is that this is an inexpensive grill pan that sammys damn well and will also last a lifetime if I care for it properly. I keep it in my grill pan so it doesn't take up any more room than the pan I bought anyway. It's a win-win-win. Turkey Club Paninis with Cranberry Chutney for Thanksgiving this year!
