Sturdy, but some problems--this is a review for holding my laptop on a tripod1) The three screw screws that hold the 3/8" threaded disc are too high, and extend above the recessed base. Put the laptop on this without protection, and it gets scratched. Put it on top of the pad, and it will overheat. No air flow for the bottom.2) The 1/4" female threaded insert that threads into the 3/8" female larger insert protrudes from the bottom; so there is no base against the tripod platform to keep it from wobbling. I tightened the insert, removed the disk, and flipped it upside down to provide a flat tripod base. Awkward, but works.3) I have a thin profile HP Spectre laptop, so the power cord insert and HDMI/USB inserts are not accessible from the sides.I'm going to cut out the majority of each side to allow for a charger and cables to go into the laptop. And for better airflow (sides and bottom).
