I ordered two of these stands -- 1 each from 2 different (Chinese)brands. This one was $17 and competitor for $28.I found this one to be better in every sense and cheaper too -- that rarely happens.1. The adapter screw was better. My tripod screw got stuck in the adapter for competitor's product.2. This one is larger in comparison3. Feels sturdy4. The base sponge is better quality -- seems to have a rubbery/grippy feel vs competitor product has cheap sponge.Overall a great buy

Sturdy, but some problems--this is a review for holding my laptop on a tripod1) The three screw screws that hold the 3/8" threaded disc are too high, and extend above the recessed base. Put the laptop on this without protection, and it gets scratched. Put it on top of the pad, and it will overheat. No air flow for the bottom.2) The 1/4" female threaded insert that threads into the 3/8" female larger insert protrudes from the bottom; so there is no base against the tripod platform to keep it…

The primary deal-breaker was that the description says it will fit a 16" laptop. but it doesn't. The actual dimension is only 15.25". If it had fit however, I think it would have been too flimsy for a full size laptop. Even though it seems fairly heavy, the tray itself is not very stable and twists so that one corner will be lower than the other. Also, as others have stated, the adapter was not included but it wasn't needed anyway to attach to my tripod.

This tray is all metal with lips on all sides which is very convenient and increases its sturdiness. I mounted it on a small lightstand to use it as a medical tray to place gauze pads, tape, syringes etc. 1/4 thread adapter is included.

The product came as expected, but since my projector weighs about 8+ lbs the holder is a little shaky, but once it's set I do not need to mess with it.

As advertised. Thanks for attention. If you need a platform for your projector this is the ticket. Will buy again if I ever need one.

Can’t beat the price, though would have happily paid double for one that was big enough (1’x2’)to hold my trackball & external HD. I knew it wouldn’t be when I ordered it, but I overestimated my ability to tolerate using the trackpad on my laptop.

The projector stand works well as long as you don't use the swivel ball adjustment. That just doesn't hold the weigh of the projector at all. Far too cumbersome to try and get level. And my projector isn't that heavy. When connected straight to the stand it is much more stable and level.

I’m using this to mount a projector to a tripod for outdoor viewing on an uneven surface. It works wonders. It’s basically just thin sheet metal but the finish is nice, and the included strap works well without obstructing the fans. It included the threaded adapter to a standard tripod.

Doesn't feel stable enough to where i would trust my laptop or projector unattended on a tripod for any length of time, but that's what you get with using a tripod. One screw, in the center. Otherwise, worked as expected. If you have a lightweight projector or laptop it should be fine.

Didn't fit the standard 1/4-20 thread pitch for most equipment. I needed to modify it a bit anyway. So didn't effe t my purpose for it. It's very sturdy nice gauge steel plate. I very happy with it.

I removed my ball head from my existing camera tripod and attached this platform to place my projector on it. The elastic strap that it comes with is supposed to add peace of mind that if anyone walks by the platform and bumps it that it would not move. I must be lucky that the 1/4 to 3/8 adapter was included, but I can see it easily falling out of the unsealed plastic bag.My Manfrotto tripod has removable head. I attached the tray directly to the center column, so there is no need to use the adapter.When attached properly, this tray can be a good platform for laptop, camera, lens, anything that's not too heavy.In conclusion, this is a good enough option for travel, nothing more nothing less.

Unfortunately I purchased this item for a last-minute project. but instead of coming with the adapter it came with a standard nut, which does nothing. So, I'm forced to spend more money to expedite shipping of a 3/8" to 1/4" adapter. Pretty irritating. As far as the product itself, I'm sure it will work fine once I get an adapter and get it all put together.

The female adapter literally lasted one minute after I inboxed it. The piece broke off the metal from the tripod and is now stuck in the adapter. Do yourself a favor and spend a little extra to get a quality product.

This could be 5 star but they need to fix some things. The metal used is ok its not too thin or easily bendable. It's not as flimsy as the other brands that cost more BUT when mounted to a tripod or holder it wiggles with a lot of play making it not a sturdy set up. It does not screw on securely. Will get the job the done. Nothing special but decently tough metal. Folks say it doesn’t come with an adapter. May be true but also may be that they lost it bc it’s horribly packaged, miniscule, and not taped to anything.

I bought this so I can place my projector on a tripod. It was advertised as having an adapter for mounting to a tripod. It just has the tray and no adapter! I emailed the seller and I'm expecting a response. This is false advertising and should be removed from revain! I'm very disappointed
