When I first received this candle it smelled great like any candle when it comes in the mail. I lit it around 5pm and around 10pm I went to blow out and saw the bottom of the candlestick through 1/4 inch melted wax. I'm not sure if that's how it was done. or if it might have something to do with a copper candle holder which conducts electricity very well and retains heat but burns out the whole candle in 5 hours.Usually a candle this size I can burn 5 hours in the evening and it will last longer than a week . I couldn't imagine going through one of these a day, in a month it will be 30x more expensive than my Netflix subscription! Updating my review after trying another candle, one without a copper candle holder I have to admit candles smell great when first lit but after the first one burned out completely in a few hours and this one broke into lots of pieces I would like to leave a rating of less than one star. Be careful when buying as this could easily burn down my house if placed on a rug or near anything flammable. I've never seen anything like it, but hopefully never again
