Advertised as a topper but works underneath.
First off, don't be intimidated by the size or looks when you get it. Give it the recommended 48 hours and it will increase in size and the lumps will disappear. I bought a 4 inch queen and use it UNDER an RV mattress. Very comfortable as it avoids the "bottom" of the mattress and doesn't cause the claustrophobic feeling that sometimes comes from memory foam, especially in summer. In addition, it has no smell. generally great.
