I used this on a pair of leather work boots. When I started they were light brown turning to a rich brown. I was expecting a color change so it's no big deal but make sure you're happy with it before applying! I applied two coats and used rags to wipe off the excess from an old t-shirt I had cut open. It was very easy to use and I found that heating the top of the jar with a hair dryer for a few seconds made scooping and straightening even easier. Good thing it didn't have a strong odor. I put my boots on in the rain a few times when I'm shoveling snow and washing my car. At first some water pooled and beaded off, but after longer or more intense exposure I got dark spots and stains on the tops of my socks (they disappeared after the boots dried). This is the first time I've used any type of boot conditioner/repellent so I'm not sure if it should or I wasn't applying enough. I will update my review after applying another coat and retesting.
