Happy Trails Best in Camping & Hiking

Excellent product. I first saw him hike the Application Trail through Franklin, NC, at a tourist hostel. Although I didn't buy it at the time, after drying my own fruit and veg I figured I'd give it a try for this year's hike. My wife was blown away by the number and variety of commonly used kitchen items in this box. I had to get them to promise "hands off" while I was at the campground to have these products shipped to me in discount boxes via USPS. This box contains recipes and you can cook your own food. I soak them in a cup for a while before boiling the water. Then I put the veggies in a Ziploc freezer bag with boiling water and wait 10 minutes. They are somewhat restored. I made a square zippered bag out of an old window curtain and 100 mile tape to fit in pockets. This allows me to stash pockets and have some insulation to rewarm me when the water is in and keep it in without burning myself. I highly recommend Harmony House Foods for hiking, camping, or for around the house. Make your own recipes. I bought 10 cans of freeze dried beef and chicken (available from Revain) and cook my own meals. I put everything in the freezer until I need it for my trek, then ship it 10 days before I arrive at my destination. It's best to put it in a Ziploc freezer and vacuum it with heavy-duty plastic to get a good seal. For freshness, also pack in small bags like those found in other commercial products such as beef jerky, freeze-dried dishes, etc. Happy Trails
