Feels solid, the clasp is strong enough (but the result is also quite heavy). The belt also proved to be of good quality, but I wasn't able to test it for durability. My problem with the product and the reason for the return was that the buckle was very difficult to close. The force required to close with this strap was such that it would be unwise to get comfortable while wearing the strap and I don't have unusually weak hands. I also can't imagine it getting much lighter over time since you won't always buckle it in the same belt position. Oddly, the adjustment on the back was really easy to open and close for the other end of the strap, but it's not really available when wearing the strap, so hardly an alternative. It could just be an issue with the manufacturing tolerance of the metal parts. If you like the look, give it a try and see if yours works better.
