My father is a native Japanese who grew up in Japan and has lived in the US for almost 30 years. You can't find fresh Taiyaki here in the US, so I got him this brand for Christmas. He got totally dizzy and has been addicted to it ever since! If he gains 20 pounds this year, I know it will be my fault. With this gadget and a simple pre-made waffle mix, you can easily make delicious, fresh, warm Taiyaki (yes, there are better recipes from scratch, but we thought the recipe out of the box was good enough for us!). After several training sessions, my father turned pro. We use it on a glass lid stovetop and it works great, especially if you follow the directions and preheat the pan on the stovetop.
